THEATRE

Nick is co-Artistic Director of What Now Productions, with whom, in 2023, he toured his play Come Out Fighting with funding from ACE and FEAST
His professional theatre career began with a 1-year Director’s Attachment to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 1986-7
He was then one of the founding Artistic Directors of the new writing company, Show of Strength’s, award-winning pub theatre project in Bristol.  From 1988 to 1993 he was instrumental in running the company, reading plays and programming seasons as well as directing 5 productions:-

In 1992 he set up his own company, FOD Productions, initially to tour classic plays to outdoor historic locations in the Gloucesterhire/S.E.Wales area.
He later extended the work into small-scale touring.
In all he produced and directed six touring productions:-

​In 1996, in the absence of funding, he moth-balled the company, but revived it in 2004 to produce and tour his own play Queer Counsel with funding from The Arts Council and the Elmley Foundation.
