But extreme means danger… and a high price..
As everyone in a production team struggles against the odds to do the job and deliver what the channel wants it’s the most vulnerable who must pay that price.
In a world of mushrooming media outlets and dwindling advertising revenue the competition for TV viewers is ever more intense, and the temptation to go to extremes is irresistible. But extreme reality often revolves around the damaged and the inadequate… and people will do anything for their 15 minutes of fame.
In a world where jobs are precious everyone needs to deliver what is required of them if they want to stay in work.. But taking responsibility for the needy brings no advancement, and certainly no profit…
The script was inspired by first-hand experience. Most of the events, attitudes and pressures which trigger the action are based on what actually happened. Only the extremity of the result is fiction.

The set up feels very real, the language of reality television, the manipulative nature of dealing with the public, the desperation to have a show ready, the admission that it's almost impossible to find characters for these programmes who are not in some way damaged - all of these elements feel very convincing......The pace and structure of the script are great. They way in which Alan's story slowly unfolds is effective, interesting and tense and one isn't sure what's going to happen next. A genuine sense of tension is built up.
