Having begun his career as a Studio Manager in BBC Radio, specialising in drama, Nick went on to be an Assistant Producer and then Producer in BBC TV Presentation in London. 

He is now a freelance director/producer/writer with over 20 years experience of location work, studio and O.B. in everything from drama, through documentaries and features to corporate work.

Last year's work included James Martin's Brittany (Eagle Media Productions for UKTV Food)- a gastronomic road trip with the chef round his old haunts in France and  Suggs' Italian Job (Wavelength Films for Sky Arts) - another road trip, this time cultural, from end to end of Italy discovering the country and its people. 

In the autumn he made 5 films with Carol Thatcher for BBC1's The One Show, and 2 with HRH the Prince of Wales for UKTV Food's Market Kitchen (Optomen)

 

In 2005 he was Series Director for the BBC2 observational documentary series Return to Tuscany, transmitted at 20 parts in spring 2006 before re-transmitting as 10 parts in a peak-time slot in the autumn. It was shot in Tuscany by Nick and two other director/cameramen, and follows the fortunes of Italian chef Giancarlo Caldesi and his English wife Katie as they set up and run a cookery school in his native Tuscany.

Drama work includes 8 episodes of the BBC1 continuing series Doctors as well as schools drama for Channel 4.

Features work includes some of the most highly regarded and enduring shows on UK television - The Antiques Roadshow, Top Gear, Gardeners' World, Location, Location Location - along with numerous others across all kinds of different subject areas 

He is equally at home with a full crew and as a self-shooter on all kinds of DV cameras, has excellent  script-writing skills (documentary and dramatic) and a specialist skill in promo directing.  

Additionally Nick is a skilled Voiceover Artist.
